I am a staff physician at Kaiser Permanente and also work with the ergonomics department at the University of California San Francisco, participating in research and academic activities. I am interested in bringing rehabilitation medicine to areas and people less fortunate than we are in the U.S. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to maximize their recovery if they suffer an incapacitating injury or illness.

I have a background in Internal medicine, but decided to pursue a career in preventive medicine as I believe people can be empowered to play an important role in their own health care and prevent many serious illnesses. Working with the people in the occupational medicine arena presents a unique opportunity to educate people on how to work safely and promote general health and well-being.

I enjoy participating in sports such as running, ice hockey and tennis.as well as inspiring others to participate. I dedicate my time to working with children with disabilities and teaching them how to play sled hockey. I am fascinated with technology and digital imaging and participate in research activities to help workers utilize technology to make their job easier and safer. I also like traveling and documenting different cultures with my camera.
