Fengyi Kuo is an occupational therapy consultant at LIH Health Care, headquartered in Beijing China. She is an experienced occupational therapy faculty and a creative clinician, passionate in community based program development and evaluation. In addition to being a Visiting Professor at Indiana University/IU School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, she also serves on the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)’s Childhood Obesity Prevention and Health Promotion Work Group. Her previous affiliations in the US include University of Indianapolis in Indiana, Gannon University in Pennsylvania, and MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
Fengyi has maintained several professional credentials and advanced certifications, including: OTR (Occupational Therapist, Registered in the US), CPRP (Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner), SIPT (Sensory Integration & Praxis Test), and Global Mental Health Trauma and Recovery from Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma (HPRT). She is the 2013 American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF)'s Community Service and Volunteerism Award recipient to recognize her advocacy and leadership in promoting healthcare access for immigrants and refugees resettled in the United States.
Since her family’s relocation to Suzhou China in 2015, she has started a new journey of promoting rehabilitation development and occupational therapy services in Mainland China by working at LIH-Olivia’s Place Pediatric Outpatient Center in Shanghai and adjunct teaching at several universities, including: Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing Medical University, Shanghai Normal University, and Kunming Medical University. She volunteers to develop and facilitate World Federation for Occupational Therapists/WFOT’s online and face-to-face training modules of Occupational Therapy Educator/OTE Courses for Chinese Rehabilitation Medicine and Therapy Faculty, Disaster Recovery and Management, and OT’s role in working with displaced populations.
During her free time, she enjoys gardening, cycling, watching her daughters dance and traveling with family. Languages: English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese.
